About

Gabija Adele (b. 1999, Vilnius) is a contemporary artist whose work bridges emotion, history, and the timeless pursuit of freedom.

She began painting at the age of four and was quickly recognized for her prodigious talent. By the age of ten, her paintings were already exhibited at the historic Vilnius Teachers’ House — a cultural center in the Old Town renowned for showcasing young artistic voices. Her early work, including the award-winning painting “Mozart”, revealed an instinctive ability to translate sound, movement, and memory into visual form.

At sixteen, her painting “Ranka į laisvę” (Hand for Freedom) was awarded by the Genocide and Resistance Research Centre of Lithuania, commemorating the nation’s struggle for independence. This piece remains a defining symbol of her voice as an artist — fearless, emotionally charged, and deeply connected to history.

Gabija was trained under a number of Lithuanian artists, and continued her education at the Vytautas Kasiulis Art School (Vienožinskis) and the Vilnius Academy of Arts, where she studied on weekends while still in her teenage years. This rigorous artistic upbringing gave her both classical foundations and a drive to experiment with contemporary expression.

Today, Gabija Adele paints with the same instinctive passion that first brought her to the canvas as a child. Her works are defined by their bold emotional presence and the ability to connect — with memory, with history, and with the viewer.

For Gabija, art is not decoration; it is dialogue. Her vision is captured in the words she lives by:

“Art that connects.”
